Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is famous for his literary works as well as poems.
Early Life
Johann Wolfgang lived his early life with his father in their large family home that was in Frankfurt. The home is referred to as the Goethe house in the present day. His father was called Johann Caspar Goethe who, although had studied law, was not involved in the official affairs of the city. This was even after he was appointed as Imperial Councillor. His mother was called Catharina Elizabeth Textor. The couple were left with only two surviving children because the others passed on while still young.
Goethe was tutored by his father and a number of private tutors on some common disciplines as well as on languages such as Greek, Italian, English and Hebrew. He was also taught how to dance, fencing and riding.
Goethe developed an interest in literature and also admired theatre works too. He went on to study law in Leipzig university for a period of three years.
Personal Life
Goethe was married to Christian Vulpius for a period of ten years. Together they had a total of five children, four of which passed on while they were still young.
Career
Goethe came up with a number of prominent works that caught the eye of many interested in literature. He also worked on poetic works which inspired several other works by renowned colleagues.
Apart from literature, he also worked on natural science as a field. He did a number of papers and books on morphology and the colour theory. He also wrote about metamorphosis of plants.
Death
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe passed away on 1832 in Weimar after suffering from a suspected case of heart failure.
