Early Life
George was born on 25th June 1903 in British India. His parents were Richard Blair and Ida Blair. When he was one, his mother took him to England together with one of his sisters.
At the age of five, his mother took him to a boy’s day school run by French Nuns. Later in September 1911, he got a scholarship to attend St. Cyprian where he boarded until December 1916. In May 1917, he went to Eton until December 1921.In this same year, he left Eton and enrolled at Craighurst where he polished his English and history having passed his entrance exam. On November 29th of 1922, he was on probation as the Assistant District Superintendent. He worked in different posts over the years.
Personal Life
Orwell was friends with Jacintha before the First World War. They dreamed of becoming famous writers. He later married Eileen on 9th June 1936 but Eileen died in 1945. Blair then courted Sonia Brownell, and they got married while on his hospital bed on 13th October 1948. Together, they had a son who was brought up by Orwell’s sister.
Career
Based on his poor lifestyle while at school, he wrote many essays his popular one, ‘Such, Such Were the Joys’ which were published. He got appointed as the Assistant District Superintendent, a position that took him to different posts of his police work.
George became a teacher in April 1932 at Hawthorns High school in West London; It was a boy’s school. He also worked as a teacher in Flair College in Middlesex, October, the same year; he left for London to work as an Assistant in a second-hand bookshop.
Death
George Orwell died in 1950 from of Tuberculosis.
