Early Life
Courtney Love was born in San Francisco, in California. She is the daughter to the Hank Harrison and Linda Carroll. Love did not grow up under the care of both her parents as they divorced when she was only five years old.
Her troubled life began while she was still a teenager. She was confined to a reform school for shoplifting. At the age of 16, Courtney Love chose to become a stripper.
Personal Life
Courtney Love’s life is that of a troubled person. She never completed college and spent most of her time traveling with her lover, Julian Cope. Using money received from her grandmother and her stripper hustle, Courtney was able to fund her numerous trips abroad. However, her relationship with Julian ended and Courtney returned to the united states of America.
Troubled with drug addiction, Courtney has been in and out of rehab centers. She even lost custody of her daughter and was forced into a confined rehab in 2005.
Courtney’s first marriage was to James Moreland in 1989 which was only short-lived. Love later got married to Kurt Cobain in 1992 in Hawaii, and together they had a daughter in 1992, August.
Career
Courtney Love did some acting before forming Hole band. In 1986, she was chosen to act in Sid and Nancy, a short film by Alex Cox. She also featured in another of Cox’s film, Straight to hell.
Courtney Love’s career highlight was when she formed Hole in 1989 together with Eric Erlandson Caroline Rue and Jill Emery. Some of the band’s greatest hits include the “Dicknail” and “Retard girl.”
The couple abused drugs together, and it eventually led to Cobain’s death through suicide on April 5th, 1994.
