Clinton Eastwood Jr. is popularly known for his role in the movie industry. The successful director is the guy behind great movies such as Unforgiven. Also, his acting skills are exceptional and have seen him gain recognition. For instance, he acted as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide, a character that saw him grab the film fans’ attention. 

Early Life

The successful director was born in San Francisco on May 31, 1930. Clinton was the first child of the late Clinton and Ruth Eastwood. Clinton was brought up during the Great Depression, and his family was forced to move from one area to another searching for work. As a result, Clinton schooled in eight grammar schools.

More afterward, his family settled in Oakland, California and Clinton joined Oakland Technical High School. During his schooling, Eastwood was an active student and appeared in the school’s swimming and basketball team. Also, he appeared in school plays although he didn’t enjoy the experience. 

Personal Life

Clint Eastwood’s love life is complicated. He has had many relationships since he was age 14. His first wife was Margaret Johnson whom he married in 1953. Surprisingly, Clinton was having an affair and which resulted in a baby that was given for adoption. The director had affairs with other women such as Roxanne Tunis. Although Johnson was ok with an open relationship, she gave up and filed a divorce. 

Later, Clinton started dating Sondra Locke, an actress, in 1975. Sondra was serious about the relationship and even moved in to live with Eastwood. The actress couldn’t put up with Eastwood’s love life, and she left after filing a palimony lawsuit. In 1996, Eastwood married Dina Ruiz, a news anchor whom he divorced in 2013. Since then, Clinton has been spotted in the company of other women.

Career

After his graduating in 1948, Clinton made ends meet by doing various low-paying jobs. Later, he started working with the Army until his discharge in 1953. His friends in the Army urged Clinton to try his luck at Universal Studios.

Clinton’s great looks earned him a job with the firm on a contract basis. The director pocketed $75 a week for taking roles in bad movies. The company dropped him in 1956 and Clinton was back to digging swimming pools. During his daily duties, Clinton landed a deal to cast in the series, Rawhide, which ran from 1959-1966.

In 1964, Clinton filmed together with director Sergio Leone in the film, A Fistful of Dollars. The role saw Eastwood rise to the limelight, and he returned to Europe to act in two other westerners. His career as a director started in 1971 when he played the movie Play Misty for Me. The thriller got positive reviews, and this saw Clinton his directing career, as well. Clinton has continued to deliver good movies which are well received at the box office.
