He is credited for changing the image of Asians in American films. His most prominent films include: The game of death (1978), Fist of Fury (1972), Golden Harvest and Enter the Dragon.
Early Life
Bruce Lee was the son of Lee Hoi Chuen and was born in china town, San Francisco. His parents travelled back to Hong Kong when Bruce was three months old. His father was Lee Hoi Chuen, and his mother was Grace Ho. Bruce Lee was the fourth born in their family. Other siblings included Agnes Lee, Phoebe Lee and Peter Lee.
His father was a film actor, and he toured in various Chinese towns in America performing multiple roles in theatres. His parents took him for martial arts training after he was involved in several street fights.
Personal Life
In 1964, Bruce Lee married Linda Emery. Their children were Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. Brandon was accidentally shot in a set for the film, ‘The Crow.’
Career
Bruce Lee began his career in 1959. His first role in a film came when he was three months old thanks to his father. The movie was called Golden Gates Girl. During his childhood, he made over 20 appearances in the film. He came up with his own Martial Arts known as Juan Fan Gung Fu. He learnt various techniques from his brother Peter Lee.
In the period between 1966- 1967 Bruce Lee took a role in the series The Green Hornet. He returned to Hong Kong where he starred in the following movies; The Way of the Dragon, Fist of Fury and Chinese Connection. Bruce Lee also wrote poems that showcased his emotions when he was on stage.
Death
Bruce Lee died on May 10, 1973, after suffering from seizure attacks. The cause of his death was later ruled as Cerebral Edema.
